Opioid prescribing CE opportunity for APRNs
Practitioner Opioid Symposium
Advanced practicing nurses in the State of Texas have an exciting continuing nursing education opportunity. The U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Dallas Field Division will host two offerings of a, 4.5 hour opioid symposium. This symposium seeks to raise awareness of the current nationwide opioid epidemic to include topics on drug abuse and trends, opioid misuse in the state, the science of addiction, guidelines for prescribing opioids, and an overview of DEA requirements regarding the handling of controlled substances pursuant of Federal regulations.
